Position Summary:
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for coordinating PRCC’s volunteer workforce, through recruitment, retention, training, evaluation, and recognition. The Volunteer Coordinator manages data of volunteer hours and activities, ensuring accurate, organized written and electronic records. The volunteer coordinator works closely with the Peer Support Supervisor to ensure necessary volunteer resources and coordinate coverage. Collaborates with local recovery-oriented organizations to build relationships and create ongoing volunteer experiences for people in recovery.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a recovery ambassador, promoting the message and mission of PRCC
- Recruit, motivate, manage, retain and recognize PRCC volunteers
- Create meaningful opportunities for volunteers to learn new skills and use existing ones to contribute to PRCC’s mission
- Facilitate weekly volunteer orientation and communicate with individuals interested in the volunteer program
- Create and facilitate training program for volunteers including implementation of training videos and certificates of training
- Provide consistent training for volunteers, including but not limited to: telephone recovery support, front desk/kiosk, new member welcoming, cleaning, and special events
- Communicate scheduling needs directly with volunteers to ensure proper coverage
- Collect and input data of volunteer hours and activities, ensuring accurate written and electronic records in Recovery Link for the Program Manager
- Collaborate with local recovery residences and other recovery-oriented organizations to develop shared activities, volunteer opportunities, and connections with PRCC
- Plan and coordinate volunteer recognition events
- Assist Program Manager with special projects including but not limited to, Rally 4 Recovery, Committees, Events and YPR Portland Chapter
- Other duties as assigned

- Strongly supportive of PRCC’s mission and ability to motivate and encourage others
- Enthusiastic, extremely well organized and passionate about working closely with people in recovery
- Clear and positive communication ability and ability to foster cooperation and teamwork
- Self-motivated and takes initiative to accomplish goals and responsibilities
- Experience providing orientations/training sessions
- Experience with organizing events and event management
- Knowledge about the recovery movement and recovery support services
- Strong facilitation and training skills
- One year community volunteer management experience, or comparable experience
- Lived experience with one year or more of personal recovery
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm with flexibility for occasional evenings and weekends.
