Click HerePosition SummaryThe Communications and Special Projects Manager manages complex communication projects, providing strategy and expert technical drafting, developmental editing, plain language editing, communication planning, and proposal development. The position collaborates on strategic organizational analysis, planning, and implementation, and other communications, operations, and human resources priorities of the NPCC Finance and Operations Manager.

In addition, the position provides program and operational support and coordination to the center on an as needed basis. The position may also provide project coordination for NPCC projects and may participate in research and training.

In accordance with the AAUP collective bargaining agreement this position is open only to current PSU AAUP academic professionals. Article 17 Section 11 refers.

Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience.Demonstrated commitment to equity and a history of contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to be creative, take initiative, be adaptable, and work both as part of a team and independently.Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and other software, internet, website management, and other electronic media.Excellent organizational skills.1-year experience providing project management support.Preferred Qualifications

Master's or advanced professional degree with 1 years of related work experience in public service, public administration, public policy, community development, or public engagement.Demonstrated experience working with community members and leaders from both urban and rural settings.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships involving considerable tact and diplomacy with public officials, private organizations, contractors, other PSU employees, and the public.Ability to listen and identify important concepts or ideas in dialogue and to record or summarize them accurately.GIS Mapping skills.Key Cultural Competencies

Total Compensation Range & Benefits StatementSalary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band. PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity.

The starting annual salary for this position will be between $54,684 and $61,158 but may be negotiated above this range, dependent upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
