Position Summary
The Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing outreach strategies to raise awareness of Portland Treatment's PHP/IOP services. This role will build relationships with local organizations, healthcare providers, schools, and community leaders to drive referrals, enhance community engagement, and promote SUD education.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute outreach plans to increase visibility and awareness of Portland Treatment's services.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with referral sources including schools, hospitals, clinics, therapists, and community organizations.
- Represent Portland Treatment at community events, health fairs, networking functions, and professional conferences.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop outreach materials, presentations, and campaigns.
- Organize and host informational sessions, workshops, and open houses to educate the public and referral partners about our services.
- Track outreach activities, outcomes, and referral data to inform ongoing strategy.
- Monitor community needs and identify opportunities for program growth and collaboration.
- Serve as a knowledgeable ambassador of Portland Treatment, able to clearly articulate services, eligibility, and referral processes.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SUD and mental health trends, resources, and local initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public health, psychology, social work, communications, or a related field preferred. (Preferred but not required)
- 2 years of experience in outreach, community relations, business development, or related field—preferably within behavioral health or healthcare.
- Strong interpersonal, networking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for Substance Use advocacy and community engagement.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally for outreach purposes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the SUD and mental health landscape in the New England area.
- Experience working with diverse populations and culturally competent practices.
