Job Title : Information Technology Support Specialist

Location : Portman Holdings Corporate Headquarters

Department : Information Technology

Reports To : Manager of Information Technology

Job Summary :

The Information Technology Support Specialist (IT Support Specialist) will work as part of the IT support team to maintain hardware, software and documentation. This individual will also manage requests from users, complete tasks or create solutions to problems encountered. The IT Support Specialist will also assist with the planning and implementation of IT Projects. There may be travel within a 5-mile radius of the Downtown Atlanta location as needed. This position is primarily an in-office job.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Help Desk : Monitor and respond to IT Support Requests in Help Desk system.
  • Employee Actions : Assist with the Onboarding / Offboarding processes.
  • System Maintenance : Manage and maintain computer systems, networks, and software applications.
  • Problem Solving : Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Patch Management : Manage the Patch Management platform for all workstations and laptops to ensure that all systems and applications are patched and secure.
  • Performance Management : Monitor system performance and ensure security measures are in place.
  • Training : Provide technical support and training to staff.
  • Application Support : Provide support for all commonly used applications within the company including Microsoft 365 applications including Microsoft Teams.
  • Documentation : Maintain documentation of IT processes and procedures as well as maintain the detailed inventory of all equipment and software licenses.
  • IT Projects : Assist in the planning and implementation of IT projects.
  • Server Maintenance : Assist with general server maintenance at all locations.
  • Ordering and order tracking : Order approved equipment, track and receive items ordered, maintaining the purchase log, code expenses for accounting, and configure new and existing systems.
  • Personnel and Equipment Adds, Moves and Changes : Assist with moving employees IT equipment as employees change locations
  • Telecom Adds, Moves and Changes : Assist with telecom system moves, adds and changes, phone set replacement, purchase and programming. Updating of he Voice Mail System.
  • Other Tasks : All other tasks assigned.

Minimum Qualifications or Knowledge, Skills and Competencies :

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum two Years of experience is required.
  • A broad range of equipment support exposure is required.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and basic Windows Server administration.
  • Knowledge of Laptop and Desktop hardware.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interaction skills
  • Strong ability to work effectively with various levels of an organization
  • Strong ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously, excellent time management skills
  • Strong listening skills and ability to fully understand what an end user’s needs and / or requests
  • Ability to work optimally in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
  • Exceptionally strong attention to detail
  • Team oriented
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network , Microsoft certification, or similar are a plus.
  • Security is required (or Achievement within first year of employment)
  • Yardi Administration Experience is a plus.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Power BI and OneLake a plus.
  • Knowledge of VMware or another current Hypervisor a plus.
