What are the responsibilities and job description for the Workers' Compensation Attorney position at Portner and Shure, P.A.?
Portner & Shure is one of the leading Personal Injury and Criminal Defense law firms in Maryland and Virginia. We are seeking a workers' compensation attorney for our Maryland practice. Must be able to work on multiple cases at different stages of the process.
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in the Workers' Compensation Commission
- Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years experience in workers' compensation
- Advise clients about their legal rights and options
- Conduct legal research and devise an effective strategy to defend the client(s) in court
- Gather evidence in support of the case
- Present evidence in court
- Negotiate settlement agreements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to build rapport with clients
- Must be licensed in Maryland, Virginia a plus
- Speak Spanish a plus but not required
Qualifications and Skills
- Must be proficient with handling high volumes of cases
- Must be an active member and in good standing with the Maryland bar
- Must have a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have excellent attention to detail, stellar organization skills and the ability to not only communicate well but to fully grasp real-life implications that these cases have on our clients
