Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our dynamic team. The EMT will play a crucial role in providing emergency medical care to patients in various settings, including pre-hospital environments and during transport to healthcare facilities. This position requires a strong commitment to patient assessment, care, and the ability to perform under pressure in emergency situations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine the nature and extent of injuries or illnesses.
- Provide immediate patient care, including administering first aid and basic life support as needed.
- Utilize knowledge of emergency medicine to respond effectively to various medical emergencies.
- Perform physical examinations and monitor vital signs to track patients' conditions.
- Assist in the transport of patients to a Level II Trauma Center or appropriate healthcare facility while ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Maintain aseptic technique during all procedures to prevent infection.
- Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals, utilizing medical terminology accurately.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with best practices in emergency medical services.
Experience
- Previous experience in patient assessment and care is preferred but not mandatory for entry-level candidates.
- Familiarity with heavy lifting techniques as it pertains to patient handling is essential.
- Experience working in an Emergency Room (ER) setting is a plus but not required.
- Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and basic emergency procedures is highly valued.
