Responsibilities
Our Residential Care Advisors (Direct Care Staff) provide assistance and training to children and adolescents with mental health and behavioral issues in a residential setting. We’re looking for people who have experience developing and mentoring a team, and who believe in a strengths-based approach, and use positive practices to help guide their everyday activities. This role provides direction and behavioral support through the use of trauma informed care, including goal and objective reviews, socialization activities, group participation, and assisting with daily living skills. Residents are monitored per their individualized safety plans.
Your day will consist of completing shift tasks such as behavioral point system, shift/progress notes, complete charting, prepare meals, assist with daily living and social skills, clean, manage medications, take residents to appointments/on outings, interact with family members and other service providers. We’re looking for employees who are professional, flexible, compassionate, positive and can remain composed in stressful situations.
This is a Residential Child Care Program. Our program is the children’s homes for a short period of time! Your dependability, integrity, empathy for others (both persons served and your fellow employees), and dedication to teamwork are essential to this position.
Qualifications
2 Years paid experience working with adolescents or young adults.
1. Sufficient level of maturity and personal stability to be capable of handling crisis situations effectively.
2. Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
3. Flexibility, reliability, stability, and consistency in job performance.
4. Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule.
5. Meet all licensing requirements: TB test, DHS clearance, background check, etc
6. Valid Georgia Driver’s license, excellent driving record and access to personal vehicle.
