Location Description:
Post Consumer Brands in Cincinnati is a small, but mighty, team handling the company's relationship with Kroger, one of our largest industry retail partners. The Post office is just a short walk from Kroger's headquarters and the reason we've set-up base in Cincinnati. Working and living in Cincinnati, you are also close to a growing food and drink scene, several sports stadiums, and historic charm. The Post Consumer Brands office in Cincinnati supports several charitable efforts, including local foodbanks and education programs.
Responsibilities:
Overview
Sales Account Manager for Strategic Customer (Kroger). Owns all aspects of managing the joint Company & Customer’s strategic plan. Responsible for delivering top line, bottom line and share growth for the organization.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Sales lead for a strategic business unit with goal to drive profitable sales growth for both Company & Customer.
  • Business Management
    • Build and maintain relationships within Customer
    • Build & maintain relationships with all cross functional internal constituents
    • Develop/align brand and customer strategies to drive brand/category growth and achieve or exceed sales/profit goals
    • Own & lead negotiation for Kroger CPI, JBP, fiscal planning, new items, key initiatives, etc.
    • Influence Customer partners to implement solutions through fact-based presentations that deliver mutually beneficial results
    • Support and partner with Supply Chain team to drive solutions at Customer
    • Grow partnership between the Customer’s and Company MDO/Marketing to drive innovation and business opportunities
    • Manage execution of everyday business, including Customer forms & reports, item/deal setup/ maintenance, online content, logistics and inventory management, etc.


  • Business Planning & Analysis
    • Own annual business plan and opportunities/initiatives associated with merchandising, assortment, pricing and shelving
    • Perform in-depth analysis of sales and profit components, including merchandising, promotional and supply chain opportunities to drive growth
    • Work with IRI/ Kroger 84.51 data to manage and inform strategic and tactical plans
    • Manage internal sales systems (promotions, deductions, forecast, etc.)
    • Effectively manage trade budget and visibility
    • Forecast monthly and quarterly sales and communicate internally for production planning
    • Ad-hoc financial and data analysis, including pre/post event analysis
    • Drive business process improvements by working closely with cross-functional business partners and team

Qualifications:

Education
  • Bachelor's degree is required

Experience

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of CPG sales/account management experience is required.
  • Previous experience calling on National Account headquarters

Other

  • Strong skills/knowledge in the following areas:
    • Communication skills-verbal and written
  • Analytical thinking and storytelling
  • Financial acumen (Trade management, etc.)
  • Technical applications- Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
  • Syndicated data (IRI)
  • Kroger 84.51-preferred
  • Cincinnati, OH based- operate from Kroger Sales office three days per week (Tues-Thurs)
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of work schedule is a must
