What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Billing Specialist position at Post Falls Family Medicine?
Post Falls Family Medicine is recruiting a full time Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. This position will ensure prompt and correct billing of all contracted and non-contracted commercial and private carriers, minimizing denials and maximizing reimbursement. Must have AR experience with a proven track record of successfully resolving claim denials. Must have knowledge and experience with Benefits, Eligibility, and insurance websites.
CORE FUNCTIONS OF POSITION
- Gathering EOBs, interpreting data, and posting payments
- Verify benefits and eligibility of insurance for each patient
- Monitor the aged accounts and the handling of all delinquent insurance and patient accounts by working the insurance and patient A/R reports.
- Provide customer service by communicating with patients via telephone, mail or in-person to answer questions on their accounts.
- Process accounts for collections and refunds.

- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Education is equivalent to high school education.
- Insurance billing experience required in a medical office.
- Must know how to interpret EOBs.
- Aptitude for and attention to detail.
- Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling all obligations.
- Must be able to work in close cooperation with other personnel, in a mature and business-like manner.
