Description:
Posterity Group LLC is a veteran owned, service-disabled small business, headquartered in Rockville, MD, that specializes in federal government contracting and staffing. We are tasked with staffing the White River Junction VAMC with Histotechnologist. The Histotechnologist is expected to perform the following:
- Responsible for grossing tissue specimens, accessioning them into the computer system, embedding, cutting, staining and cover-slipping tissue. Also prepares special stains for tissue per request of pathologists.
- Assists the pathologists in the cutting of surgical, frozen sections, and possibly autopsies.
- Processes specimens using equipment, instruments, or techniques to prepare them for specific analysis, controls physical conditions, responds to time factors to ensure that the physiological state-of-the art specimen is maintained.
- May serve as the back-up morgue assistant in the absence of the contract diener. This includes basic assistance of the pathologist during autopsies to include, but not limited to, identification, set up, general assistance, body closure, and clean up.
- at least 3 years of relevant experience
- BS/BA in relevant areas
