Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our medical staff and ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care. This position requires a blend of clinical and administrative skills, with a focus on patient interaction and support in various medical settings.

Duties:

Back Office

  • Maintain a clean and organized office environment
  • Collect blood samples for analysis
  • Perform Electrocardiograms (EKGs)
  • Administer injections as required
  • Process and send samples for laboratory testing
  • Conduct hearing screenings for patients
  • Enter data accurately into the system
  • Measure and record patient vital signs
  • Ensure exam rooms are cleaned and prepared for use
  • Perform both hearing and vision tests
  • Greet and assist patients in-person and over the phone with professionalism and courtesy

Front Desk

  • Greet patients in a professional and welcoming manner, both in-person and over the phone
  • Address patient inquiries promptly or direct them to the appropriate department
  • Optimize provider schedules to ensure maximum efficiency and patient satisfaction
  • Notify healthcare providers of patient arrivals in a timely manner
  • Comfort patients by addressing their concerns and providing reassurance
  • Ensure the availability and accuracy of patient records by updating and retrieving necessary information
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments efficiently
  • Collect and verify insurance information
  • Complete patient check-ins and verify necessary details
  • Process and send prescriptions electronically
  • Scan and file patient records into electronic charts
  • Respond to electronic faxes and other communication channels promptly
  • Address emails and other requests with a sense of urgency
  • Take accurate messages for physicians and ensure timely delivery

Experience
Candidates should possess prior experience or training as a Medical Assistant or in a related healthcare field. Familiarity with medical practices is beneficial. A solid understanding of medical terminology, systems, and procedures is essential for success in this role. Experience working with diverse patient populations, particularly geriatrics, is highly valued.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
