What are the responsibilities and job description for the FLETC Exercise Role Player position at Potomac Management Solutions?
Potomac Management Solutions is seeking FLETC Role Players, for a projected need, to perform roles as part of an event/exercise that include but are not limited to Innocent Bystanders, Shopkeepers, Family Members, criminals, law violators, etc. As a role player, you will provide critical support to training for law enforcement personnel. Role players provide law enforcement students the opportunity to apply learned concepts and experience that will prepare them for the situations they will face in the line of duty. You will be required to portray characters, memorize background and exercise-critical information for multiple characters, and be able to take feedback and adjust your performance to best support the instructors and the students. You will be required to support many different types of training including checkpoint security processing, vehicle stops, sobriety tests, witness interviews, suspect interviews, etc. You will typically be required to report for your assigned roles anywhere between 6:30 AM and 6:00 PM, and each role normally lasts two to four hours, though some may last more than 8 hours and run as late as midnight.
Role Players must follow all required security rules for the assigned FLETC facility and conform with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions
Qualifications:
- Must be capable to perform the essential functions and demands of their assigned work in a safe and effective manner.
- Minimum 1-2 years experience as an Exercise Role Player
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Foreign Language speakers welcome and needed but must understand English.
- Must practice acceptable personal hygiene and present a neat appearance and wear appropriate clothing.
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
- High School diploma or GED
- Must possess a current state driver's license
- US Citizen or non-citizen who has been lawfully admitted for permanent residence
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Successfully adopt a fictional persona, supplied by OTA, and participate in interviews with law enforcement students.
- Simulate various activities during which you will be required to jump, run, crouch, bend, reach, handle lightweight props, lay on the ground, kneel, and stand from a kneeling position.
- In controlled settings, permit physical searches of your person by students of the same and the opposite gender.
- Remain "in role" during training mission. Don't break character.
- Abide by all government security policies and procedures and OTA company policy and behavioral guidelines.
