Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing and reporting manufacturing costs, establishing and maintaining standard costs, performing variance analysis, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and ensuring accurate inventory valuations. The Cost Accountant will work closely with our Operations and Supply Chain teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure compliance with financial standards.

Location: Malvern, PA
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent (Hybrid – Minimum 3 days in-office)
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Flexible)
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain production recipes and material standard costs.
- Work closely with operations to analyze material transactions.
- Monitor inventory accuracy, including cullet, intermediates, and finished goods.
- Lead quarterly inventory counts.
- Monitor fixed cost spending at Potters Plants.
- Complete analysis and reporting of manufacturing costs.
- Participate in the period closing process.
- Prepare monthly production-related financial statements.
- Prepare monthly financial analysis on fixed costs and production variances.
- Perform fixed asset inventories.
- Assist with the annual financial audit.
- Provide training to new and existing employees, as needed.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and analyses as requested.
- Take on additional duties as assigned by the Manager.
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
Experience:
- 2 to 4 years of cost accounting experience required.
- 2 to 4 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- SAP experience is a plus.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and processes.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, reporting, etc.).
- Knowledge of cost analysis, standard costing, inventory management, and Bill of Materials (BOM) and routing.
Working Conditions:
- Standard office environment.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Frequent hand and arm movements (e.g., typing, using a mouse).
