About the Role: As a low voltage electrical apprentice, you will work alongside experienced electricians, gain valuable hands-on experience, and receive comprehensive training to develop the skills necessary for a successful career in the residential service electrical industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential properties, including wiring, fixtures, outlets, and circuit breakers.
  • Learn to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
  • Assist with troubleshooting electrical malfunctions and participate in problem-solving to identify effective solutions.
  • Perform basic electrical tasks under the guidance of experienced electricians, such as running wire, mounting equipment, and connecting electrical components.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Learn to use electrical tools, equipment, and testing devices in a safe and effective manner.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure timely completion of projects and meet customer expectations.
  • Actively participate in training programs, apprenticeship courses, and educational sessions to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
  • Installs security systems in buildings.
  • Reads blueprints and work diagrams to determine length and size of wire needed.
  • Cuts wire to specified length with pliers; strips insulation from ends of wire and connects wire to panels.
  • Strings wire harness. Pulls length of wire from harness at specified points to complete branch circuits.
  • Run PVC and EMT conduit.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local laws applicable to position and employment generally.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and expectations to the benefit of the organization and co-workers.
  • Productively and positively contribute to the company’s goal of maintaining a safe, healthy, productive, and enjoyable workplace.
  • Accurately completes all paperwork, including timesheets, in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in the electrical trade.
  • Excellent work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Basic understanding of electrical concepts, circuits, and electrical safety.
  • Good manual dexterity and the ability to work with hand and power tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work at heights and in various environments, including confined spaces.
  • Valid driver's license or the ability to obtain one.
