This role will coordinate human resources procedures and tasks. In addition to recruiting and placing new employees, an HR Coordinator assists with guiding employees through various human resource processes and answering any questions they may have about policies and procedures.

The HR Coordinator will also assist with administering benefit plans, processing payroll and handling any problems or questions to ensure positive employee relations. The position also has an active role in ensuring all human resource functions are complying with local, state and federal regulations. This role provides administrative support as needed including record-keeping, file maintenance and data entry and maintenance.

Additional duties include:

  • Consulting with the employer and identifying employment needs
  • Coordinating the recruitment process in its entirety
  • Interviewing potential applicants regarding their skills, experience and education
  • Contacting references and performing background checks on applicants
  • Informing applicants about position details, including working conditions, benefits and duties
  • Hiring qualified applicants for the employer
  • Completes Form I9s, verifies I9 documents and maintains I9 files
  • Conducting or helping with new employee orientation and training
  • Administers benefit plans including enrollments, changes and terminations. Processes required documents to ensure accurate record keeping and deductions. Reconciles benefits statements.
  • Keeping process paperwork and employment records
  • Administering employment policies
  • Ensuring compliance with state and federal laws related to employment
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Conducts audits of payroll, benefits or other HR programs and recommends corrective action.
  • Assists with processing of terminations.
  • Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.
  • Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • At least two years related experience required.
  • SHRM-CP credential preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
