Location: Rochester, NY
Position Overview:
The Electrician will contribute expertise to commercial/ industrial and utility projects.
Requirements:
- Adequate physical ability.
- Mechanical skills.
- Blueprint reading.
- Project layout skills.
- Conduit bending (both power and hand bending).
- Conduit threading (both power and hand threading).
- Experience in building services.
- Layout of underground services.
Qualifications:
- Journeyman Electrician certification strongly preferred but not required.
- Demonstrates the ability to think ahead, plan within timelines and resources, develop scopes, plan and schedule work, set priorities and goals, participate in problem-solving, and adjust for problems.
- Successfully plan and implements objectives within established guidelines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong team player.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy parts and equipment (up to 50 pounds or more).
- Stamina to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise tasks.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods.
- Good vision, including close-up and peripheral vision, for detailed inspections.
- Hearing ability to diagnose engine and equipment noises.
- Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.
- Considerable physical activity, requiring heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 pounds.
- No fear of heights.
Compensation:
- $30-$45 per hour based on experience plus prevailing wage opportunities
