Description
Power County Hospital District is hiring for a PRN (as needed) cook / aide position in our dietary department.
Key Objective :
Ensures that the Idaho Diet Manual standards of food production, presentation, and sanitation is maintained during the assigned shift.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS :
- Maintain compliance regarding patient and resident rights.
- Perform all work in accordance with all federal, state, and facility regulations.
- Monitor and wash dishes as they accumulate to ensure clean work environment. This includes dishes in the cafeteria.
- Clean and maintain dishwasher area as needed following facility and manufacturer instructions.
- Maintain record of dishwasher temperatures. Inform supervisor if temperatures are out of acceptable range
- Maintain and stock the cafeteria and kitchen to include drawers, fridge, snacks, also stock the kitchen as needed with containers, napkins, supplements, and whatever else is needed.
- Monitor and replace all cleaning solutions used by the dishwasher and 3 compartments sink as needed.
- Follow daily menus to prepare trays with diet cards, beverages, supplements, fruit, desserts as needed.
- Transport meals via meal cart to Hospital and LTC.
- Report broken or damaged utensils and any malfunctions in equipment to supervisor.
- Record all food and supplement temps on temp sheet before tray line.
- Prepares and plates quality food accurately and attractively according to diet and menu while adhering to nutritional needs of the patient / resident.
- Provide customer service to patients, residents, and patrons while maintaining high standards of quality, sanitation and safety.
- Ensure proper sanitation and storage of kitchen equipment, food and supplies.
- Prepare for upcoming meals by allowing appropriate thawing according to HACCP.
- Maintain kitchen sanitation and safety standards.
- Chart temperatures of refrigerators and freezers, total number of meals served daily (including guest trays), and completion of tasks.
- Use first-in, first-out, method of food usage.
- Assist in the cleaning of the kitchen, kitchen equipment, food storage, and supply areas according to the facility schedule.
- Dispose of all garbage per sanitation regulations
- Adhere to the established dietary standards for personal hygiene and personal appearance. See employee manual.
- Follow safety procedures as stated in dietary policies and procedures.
- Act as cashier during mealtimes in the cafeteria
- Secure kitchen facilities prior to leaving at the end of the day
- All other duties as assigned. Duties are dependent upon the position being worked for the shift.
- Patient Safety Sensitive Position – Due to the handling of patient / resident food and the assembly of special diets, this position will be considered a patient safety sensitive position.
