Substation DrafterJob Summary
POWER Engineers is seeking a full-time Drafter to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Minneapolis, Minnesota office. Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (employee will need to live within commutable distance of the office).
Responsibilities
The position entails drafting and design opportunities on substation projects that include physical and civil layout drawings as well as schematics and wiring diagrams.
The successful candidate will be responsible for learning, understanding, and implementing CAD knowledge; learning client standards, practices, and procedures to ensure that work produced conforms to the client's standards and expectations; being responsible for knowing and following POWER's standards, procedures, and processes; collaborating on design issues; and seeking guidance from those with more experience.

Base Salary Range: $50K - $70K
The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job related knowledge, skills, experience and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(k) match, etc.

Required Education/Experience
- Associate's/technical degree in an accredited drafting program, or sufficient industry experience
- 3 year drafting experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, preferably in an engineering work environment
- Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with other team members
- Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship
- 5 years drafting experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, preferably in substation design work environment
- Experience with Autodesk Raster Design and/or Bentley Descartes
- Experience interpreting substation electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, and/or substation physical/civil drawings
- Experience working with scaled drawings
- Working knowledge of survey coordinate systems
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience with ProjectWise File Management System
- Reliable, detail-oriented self-starter who takes ownership of assigned tasks
