POWER Engineers is seeking a Drafting Intern to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Boise, Idaho office. Under the guidance of multiple experienced drafters, the successful candidate will work with engineers and designers to develop high voltage substation construction packages.

Job Summary And Responsibilities
POWER Engineers is seeking a Drafting Intern to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Boise, Idaho office. Under the guidance of multiple experienced drafters, the successful candidate will work with engineers and designers to develop high voltage substation construction packages.
- Learning, understanding, and implementing CAD knowledge.
- Learning client standards, practices, and procedures to ensure that work produced conforms to client’s requirements.
- Be able to work in design teams, be self-motivated to perform assigned tasks.
- Take initiative to learn new skills.
- Be able to learn new software packages efficiently.
- Retain and apply on the job training.
- Pursuit of an Associate's in CAD Drafting/Technology.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Strong command of the English language with good verbal and written communication skills.
- Background in mathematics.
- Candidate is interested in consulting engineering and the electric utility industry.
- Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills will be critical for completing tasks.
- Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.
- Minimum of a 3.0 GPA.
- Experience working with scaled drawings.
- Prior internship and/or related engineering experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of substation electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, and/or substation physical/civil drawings
- is beneficial.
- Experience with other engineering software such as MicroStation, Inventor, SolidWorks, or ACADE
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
