What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Manager position at Power the Grid?
Position: Plant Manager
Reports to: Director of Operations
Location: Miami, FL
Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 per year, or more depending on experience (candidate responsible for their own taxes)
Schedule: Flexible between two shifts (6 AM - 3 PM or 4 PM - 12 AM), most likely 9 AM - 6 PM.
A highly automated production facility in Miami is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to oversee its operations. This role is hands-on and focused on complex mixing and pasteurization processes rather than solely final packaging and freezing. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in industrial food production, ideally in dairy, cheese, or yogurt manufacturing, and must be fluent in Spanish and English.
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the industrial production facility.
- Oversee and optimize complex mixing, pasteurization, and quality control processes.
- Implement and refine production processes to support the transition from semi-industrial to fully industrial-scale production.
- Work hands-on with the new large-scale industrial machinery, ensuring efficiency and compliance with food safety standards.
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations and production teams to improve operational workflows.
- Ensure high-quality standards are met while maintaining production efficiency.
- Train and mentor production staff in the new industrial processes.
- Address production challenges and optimize performance without excessive focus on corporate KPIs or Excel reporting.
- Significant experience in large-scale industrial food production, preferably in dairy, cheese, or yogurt manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of pasteurization, mixing processes, and quality control in food production.
- Hands-on leader with a practical approach rather than a corporate managerial focus.
- Bilingual: Fluent in Spanish and English.
- Willing to relocate to Miami, including candidates from anywhere in the Americas.
- Open to candidates currently in the U.S. on a visa (H1-B sponsorship considered).
- Must adapt to and manage new large-scale industrial machinery similar to those used by major brands (e.g., Sabory, Bresler).
- The current team lacks expertise in industrial-scale production; the candidate will play a key role in bridging this gap.
- Must ensure a seamless transition from semi-industrial to fully industrial production while maintaining quality and efficiency.
- Opportunity to lead the transformation of a growing food production company.
- Work with state-of-the-art industrial equipment in a cutting-edge facility.
- Hands-on role with significant autonomy and impact.
- Competitive salary with potential for raise after showing great results, and for growth both within the company and for international recruitment opportunities.
If you are an experienced food production professional ready for a dynamic, hands-on leadership role, we encourage you to apply!
