AR/AP Specialist

Job Description

Position: Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Specialist

Department: Accounting

Direct Report To: Director of Finance & Accounting

PowerBuilt is a leading provider of turn-key material handling solutions, specializing in lift assist, conveyor systems, controls, and pre-engineered equipment. Our clients include some of the largest automotive, appliance, aerospace, and heavy truck manufacturers across North America. Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable (AP):

• Process and verify vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payments
• Manage expense reports and reconcile discrepancies
• Maintain vendor records and respond to inquiries
• Assist with month-end closing and reporting for AP
  
  

Accounts Receivable (AR):

• Generate and send invoices to customers in a timely manner
• Monitor accounts to ensure timely collections and follow up on overdue payments
• Apply payments and reconcile accounts
• Handle customer inquiries regarding billing and payment discrepancies
  
  

General Accounting Support:

• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies
• Assist in preparing financial reports and reconciliations
• Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
• Collaborate with the finance team to improve processes and efficiency
  
  

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience in AP/AR or an Associate’s Degree in Accounting / related field
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, invoicing, and payment processing
• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
