Position : Build Lead
Department : Assembly
Direct Report To : Assembly Manager
PowerBuilt is a leading provider of turn-key material handling solutions, specializing in lift assist, conveyor systems, controls, automation, and pre-engineered equipment. Our clients include some of the largest automotive, appliance, aerospace, and heavy truck manufacturers across North America. Responsibilities :
- Lead the electrical assembly and integration of custom-engineered tools and systems
Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and build schedules
Guide and coordinate assigned technicians in electrical installations and troubleshooting
Ensure adherence to project timelines by communicating resource needs and progress updates
Perform testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electrical components before buyoff / shipment
Manage pre-buyoff and pre-shipment punch lists to ensure quality standards are met
Complete formal quality inspections to verify system functionality and safety
Work collaboratively across departments, including engineering, fabrication, and project management
Assist in preparing shipments by reviewing bills of materials and ensuring all electrical components are included
Maintain a clean and organized workspace , ensuring all electrical components and tools are properly stored
Lead and participate in customer buyoffs at PowerBuilt
Requirements :
Leadership experience , with the ability to oversee a team of technicians
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and assembly drawings
Experience with industrial automation, PLCs, and control panels is a plus
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
High school diploma or equivalent education required; technical certifications or associate degree in electrical technology preferred
Must provide personal hand tools (PowerBuilt supplies power tools)
Ability to travel up to 5-10% (as needed)
Strong time management, communication, and problem-solving skills
Reliable transportation to and from the manufacturing facility
Ability to stand, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs as required for assembly tasks
