Overview:
We are seeking an experienced individual to fill our Fire Alarm Technician position. Individual must be a self-starter with excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate has technical knowledge, problem solving skills, and proven fire alarm system project and service experience. Reports directly to Operations Manager.
Positions Responsibilities:
PowerComm Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician within our Reno, Nevada Office. Responsibilities include:
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, submittals and product manuals in order to properly install, configure, test and commission Commercial Fire Alarm systems.
- Oversee and ensure proper completion of work assigned.
- Evaluate, troubleshoot and diagnose, Fire Alarm Systems of all brands and complexities.
- Understand, interpret and present Federal, State and Local Life Safety/Fire Protection Code compliance requirements. Coordinate code requirements with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), other contractors, and end users.
- Effectively communicate systems performance to customers and end-users.
- Willing to be on-call after hours for emergency service requests.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Candidate must have proven experience in several of the following disciplines:
- 3 to 5 years of experience installing, programing, commissioning, testing, servicing and maintaining commercial fire alarm systems. Similar experience with Commercial Security and Communication Systems is a plus.
- Must possess a Nevada State Fire Alarm License and at a minimum a NICET Level 2 Fire Alarm Certification is preferred.
- Experience with Edwards (EST) Fire Alarm Systems is an advantage. Understanding of Multiple Industry Brands is a plus.
- Excellent mechanical skills required to install and maintain systems hardware and infrastructure.
- Proficient systems troubleshooting and resolution abilities at the application, hardware, and infrastructure levels.
- Knowledge of industry regulations, codes, and standards applicable to the electronics industry.
- Excellent computer and advanced Microsoft Office aptitudes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with customers and employees at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must work with minimal supervision.
- Must clear a background/credit check, drug test, and have a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets Company requirements.
