Custom Home Electrical Estimator
Established North Austin electrical contractor seeking Electrical Estimator to bid projects for custom homebuilders in Austin, San Antonio, Marble Falls and the surrounding areas. The company is looking for a candidate with electrical experience and the knowledge and skills necessary to bid and manage complex custom residential projects.
Primary Tasks Involve:
- Evaluate and interpret specifications provided by homebuilders to generate accurate and detailed sales proposals.
- Create new proposals and maintain existing proposals utilizing company estimating process and software.
- Ensure all proposals are bid per National Electrical Code and meet the requirements of local authorities having jurisdiction.
- Ensure the scope of work is communicated clearly to all involved parties and guarantees the home is wired correctly, per customer specifications, and operates smoothly.
- Ensure all jobs are prepared and dispatched to the field in a timely manner and in accordance with the customer’s schedule.
- Coordinate with warehouse and purchasing teams to ensure all materials are ordered in advance and readily available at time of rough and trim.
- Promote the growth and reputation of the company. Pursue new customers and represent the company at builder events, meetings, company events, association events, etc.
- Build knowledge and awareness of new and emerging technologies, products, or practices to enhance the company’s product offerings and grow sales.
Candidates must possess the following:
- Active TDLR electrical license. Residential wireman or above.
- Experience with bidding residential electrical projects.
- Experience with estimating software and Microsoft suite.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and local electrical rules and regulations.
- Experience with technical electrical and lighting products such as architectural recessed lighting, lighting control systems, and home automation technologies.
