What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operational Assistant position at Powers Health?
POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY:
Provides secretarial and clerical services to either managerial associates and/or department head-level associates. Prepares correspondence in final form. Types a number of office records, reports, billing, etc., receives and directs visitors, efficiently schedules patient appointments, and maintains and updates departmental records. Gathers data and prepares a variety of recurring reports to assist staff to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the department or unit. Also, ensures proper insurance eligibility, pre-authorizations and tracks for reimbursements.
- Completion of high school level coursework.
- Two to three years of related office experience in order to become proficient in clerical skills, to acquire a thorough knowledge of effective and efficient office systems, to develop suitable interpersonal skills, and to gain a thorough understanding of hospital policies and procedures.
- The organizational skill to maintain orderly and efficient office systems for a department or unit and to schedule and coordinate a variety of activities simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills necessary to deal with visitors and Hospital personnel at all levels.
- Analytical ability to evaluate and interpret data for the preparation of reports.
- Clerical ability to operate a variety of office machines.
- Exhibits proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Exhibits proficiency in typing
