What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intern - Payroll and General Accounting position at PowerSecure Brand?
The intern hired for this position should expect to learn our IFS timekeeping and UKG SaaS payroll systems and assist the payroll team with weekly responsibilities. The intern will work closely with payroll team members and periodically interface with HR, other employees, or managers for information. Other assigned work may include researching withholding requirements, responding to state or federal notices, and internal audits of employee data. Additionally, this position will share time assisting the Financial Controller with basic general accounting duties which may include reconciliations, research and journal entries.

Minimum Qualifications · Applicants should be business majors, pursuing an accounting, finance or human resources or related major · Must be available to work on average 15 hours per week year-round. Unpaid time off during finals, breaks or other periods is acceptable. Hours may be longer when the student is available, as during summer breaks · Student must be in good standing with an accredited college/university · Must have achieved at least sophomore status · Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher · U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident · Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel |

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities · Knowledge of computer navigation, Windows based · Strong desire to learn and develop · Intermediate Excel skills based on use of formulas and pivot tables or aptitude to learn · Emotional maturity to manage sensitive data confidentially · Self-directed learning to seek answers on the UKG Community portal · Attention to detail and accuracy · Good verbal and written communication skills · Should understand basic accounting principles consistent with Accounting I or II classes · A team focus to meet critical timelines |

Physical Demands Extended periods of sitting and working in front of a computer. If assigned to a manufacturing project, extended periods of standing , loud noises, and walking will be encountered. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
