Summary:
Work on unique products that are custom designed for special applications or highly modified standard machines. At this level incumbents can work independently on projects of greater difficulty. Ability to take parts from inception to completion using various hand tools.
Essential Functions:
- Position, align, and fasten units to assemblies, subassemblies, or frames, using hand tools and power tools for proper fit and assembly.
- Operate small cranes to transport or position large parts.
Knowledge and Skill:
- Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Requires average knowledge of assembly techniques, and skills in pneumatics, hydraulics, and actuation.
- Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus 5 years’ relevant industrial manufacturing experience.
- Associates Degree in machine maintenance or similarly structured training program or ASE certification preferred, but not required.
