Summary :
Reporting to the Production Lead, the Electronics Technician will build, wire, calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and repair custom electronic panels, components, equipment, and systems on most or all varieties of products, including wiring, installing, testing, and troubleshooting panels on large industrial machinery. Technicians focus on the point where mechanical technology, electronics, computers, and electrical systems meet.
Essential Functions :
- Prepare work by reviewing instructions, engineering print specifications, schematic drawings, and parts lists. Identify and gather required tools and materials.
- Build, wire, calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and repair custom electronic panels, components, equipment, and systems on most or all varieties of products. Includes wiring, installing, testing, and troubleshooting panels on large industrial machinery.
- Solder, install and wire circuit boards, industrial motors, and motor controls.
- Perform basic programming, configuring, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic modules.
- Perform panel and enclosure modifications using power and hand tools as necessary.
- Configure PCs with necessary product software.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers or others to identify, define, or anticipate and solve developing problems.
- Inspect project work for quality control and assurance. Document and correct quality issues.
- Assist and train other personnel as needed.
- Manage assembly time to ensure completion of assigned projects within the specified time frame.
- Operate a forklift or crane when necessary.
- Perform basic work area housekeeping tasks and ensure that work area is neat and safe.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements :
High School Diploma or GED
3 years’ experience wiring panels and complex machines from prints, schematics, and technical instructions.
Ability to read and interpret schematics
Basic soldering skills
Prior experience with voltages ranging from 5 volt and TTL up to 480 volt AC three-phase
Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment (multimeter, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.)
Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds
