JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Location: Sault Ste Marie, MI.
- Type: Hourly, Non-Exempt.
- Reports to: Manufacturing and Quality Engineering Manager or Designee.
- Education/Experience Required:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in inspection or manufacturing, with knowledge of standard inspection equipment and prints to ensure product conformity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct product inspections at Receiving, In-process, and Final stages.
- Generate daily inspection activity reports.
- Participate in the Material Review Board to address quality issues with customers and suppliers.
- Assist in creating inspection plans and perform First Article Inspections.
- Conduct shop floor audits and support supplier audits as needed.
- Review and verify First Article parts and reports from suppliers.
- Provide training on inspection practices as necessary.
- Ensure adherence to quality system procedures and safety standards.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to interpret complex part drawings, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Knowledge of standard inspection measuring tools and equipment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive bending and twisting.
- Correctable vision to 20/20 with color distinction capability.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexible availability for all shifts.
- Proficiency in using advanced gauges and measuring equipment.
NICE TO HAVE (NOT REQUIRED):
- Experience with ISO13485 standards.
