The Senior Help Desk Technician position supports the Government with administrative support functions for POWTEC Solutions, LLC. This position is Non-Exempt (hourly), Full Time (40 hours) per week, Monday through Friday with rotating after-hours on-call support.
Essential Job Functions:
- The Senior Help Desk Technician will provide deployment and ongoing support of desktop hardware and software support for multiple locations around a military facility. Position will provide information technology support for more than 750 computer users, computer hardware and software, e-mail accounts, Internet, local area network, Virtual Private Network (VPN), and overall information technology system administration within both the NIPR (Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router, unclassified) and SIPR (Secure Internet Protocol Router, classified) domains. Installing, testing, and directing the operation of software and computer hardware: troubleshooting systems and equipment errors along with connectivity problems.
- Provided customer service support for local area networks, data file administration, and communications.
- Prepare workstations for remote and on-site deployment, including software configuration and/or imaging.
- Provide troubleshooting of hardware and software in-person, via telephone, and/or use of remote-control tools
- Track deployment of assets via the inventory system.
- Manage, establish, and maintain user network connections via physical and wireless (WIFI) connections.
- Report, track, respond, correct, and account for IT threats and vulnerabilities as tasked by Department of Defense (DoD) authority organizations.
- Create, manage, maintain, grant/deny/remove user access, and close user, group, and local e-mail and network accounts, as needed.
- Manage user permissions to network resources, security groups, distribution lists, and network-stored data structures as requested by proper authorities.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Must have a Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship is a requirement for this clearance level)
- CompTIA Security Certification required.
- A or Network Certification preferred but not required.
- 2-4 years of Information Technology, desktops, peripherals, networks, active directory & handheld device experience.
- Technical experience with setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of Windows 10 PCs
- Use of Remedy software or Trouble Ticket System
- Experience with Active Directory, Domains & VPNs
- Experience with local and network printer and multi-function device support
- Associate in computer science is preferred
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and will be subject to any post-accident and/or reasonable suspicion testing throughout employment.
