Position Summary:
Camp Achva is looking for dynamic, fun, and motivated Counselors to join our team this summer! Counselors are responsible for a designated camp group throughout the camp day. Camp groups are grade based, and our campers are from rising kindergarteners-rising 10th graders. Each group has an average of 15 campers and two counselors. Counselors should be able to lead their group, engage with the children, and ensure all children are having a safe and fun summer at camp.

Qualifications:

• Must be 15 or older
• Must have experience working with children
• Must have excellent communication skills, can work collaboratively with co-counselor in a day-camp environment
• Possess a good sense of humor, a passion for working with children, and ensuring they are having fun
• Must be flexible, creative, patient and comfortable managing challenging behaviors
• Must take initiative and think on your feet
• Experience in working with children with special needs/disabilities a plus

Essential Position Duties:

• Attend Orientation Week (June 16 - 20)
• Work a full schedule (8:30am-4:30pm Monday through Friday) Priority is given to those who can work the full 6-week summer – June 23 to August 1.
• Organize and lead activities for campers
• Follow a preassigned daily schedule, participating with campers in activities throughout the day
• Ensure an inclusive camp group where all campers feel safe and welcome
• Smile all summer long
• Let loose and fully embrace the camp spirit
• Positively impact the lives of children and peers

Compensation and Benefits: $12.50 - $15.50 per hour
