What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Supervisor position at PPG Industries?
The Maintenance Supervisor oversees maintenance employees to perform maintenance or service tasks within established timing, quality, and cost parameters. You will coordinate activities between the operations and maintenance. You will work an onsite schedule and report to the Engineering & Maintenance Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot breakdown repairs, skilled fabrications, installation or replacement.
- Ensure that all work and product produced is following established quality requirements.
- Establish shift schedules, prioritizing jobs, procuring material, and conducting preventive maintenance to ensure work continuity and balance. Schedules are coordinated with the plant to minimize down time, maximize production and maximize maintenance compliance and productivity.
- Recommend improvements in equipment and production methods consistent with cost and quality objectives.
- Communicate daily with the production and engineering leadership in support of the PM programs and emergency work.
- Manage the core maintenance team on all three shifts daily.
- Collaborate with Finance to ensure processing of all Maintenance department purchases.
