What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Supervisor position at PPG?
As a QC Laboratory Supervisor working onsite in Delaware, OH, you will be responsible for a variety of laboratory operations in quality control and research settings. In the QC team, you will manage a team of technicians in the pursuit of sample validation, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement. Reporting directly to the QC Lab Manager you will be a model performer, a facilitator for the technicians, and a driver of strategic plans at the laboratory level.

Key Responsibilities
- Execute daily allocation of resourcing amongst the QC team
- Drive team performance and develop an accountability mechanism to support feedback
- Identify the requirements for support of multiple departments and help achieve strategic goals
- Facilitate and support RCA activities
- Identify and scope improvement opportunities in the process
- Collaborate with fellow QC lab supervisors to scope opportunities amongst different work areas
- Lead daily meetings with technicians
- Acknowledge and facilitate fulfillment of the needs of the technicians, the QC team, and the physical resourcing of the lab
- Understand and maintain Delaware’s Quality Management System requirements
- Maintain and complete a personal and team development plan
- Contribute to Departmental X matrix action items as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering
- At least 2 years of professional experience in a laboratory setting
- Experience in people leadership required
- Work additional overtime as determined by team, business, and project needs
