What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Technician position at PPG?
PPG Industries, Inc. seeks a Laboratory Technician in Delaware, OH responsible for assuring production process control, product quality, and administrative functions for the Resin Lab for a 12-hour, overnight shift.
Specific Duties Include
(i) maintaining records, preparing and verifying shipping and receiving paperwork, CoA and lab results entries, and ensuring stocks of supplies and equipment
(ii) testing raw material to ensure in-specification properties prior to receipt as well as testing in-process and finished goods samples
(iii) calibration, verification, and maintenance of lab equipment, including process tank levels and accurate hose connections for bulk material transfers.
Must have an associate’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Chemical Technology, or a related technical field plus one (1) year of experience in a related position.
Must also have one (1) year of laboratory experience with each of the following:
(i) testing equipment
(ii) testing methods, including titration, gas chromatograph (GC), and fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR).
Experience can be concurrent.
Must be willing to work 12-hour, overnight shifts.
