Job Summary
The Supervisor of Patient Accounts leads daily activities of their assigned teams and responsibilities. Monitors workflows for accuracy and efficiency.
Essential Functions
- Effectively leads, coaches, trains and counsels team members as necessary
- Monitors employee performance for compliance with PPS/CHS policies and guidelines
- Schedules staff according to operational needs
- Establishes and monitors team goals
- Handles escalated issues related to daily operations
- Reviews work completed by staff for accuracy and completeness
- Facilitates departmental meetings
- Reviews employees/contractors timecards for accuracy and use of Vac/SL/Unpaid time within policy. Approve time for payroll as necessary
- Communicates questions or concerns for prompt resolution
- Recommends changes to processes as appropriate
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Health care management or Business required
- 0-1 years 6 months leadership or supervisory experience required
- 5-7 years at least 5 years of revenue cycle management with a general knowledge of ICD9 and CPT coding; or equivalent combination of education and experience. required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of W-9 and 1099 processes, procedures, reporting, and general accounting practices.
- In depth knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- General knowledge of computer systems usage, AS/400 specific knowledge a plus.
- Conscientious individual capable of following instructions and exercising independent thought and judgment.
- Effective organizational and communication skills
- Computer Skills Required: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software and Database software.
