About the Role:

We’re hiring one dedicated in-person tutor to provide small-group and one-on-one math and ELA instruction to Spanish speaking early elementary school students (grades K-1) at PS 103. As an in-person tutor, you’ll collaborate with classroom teachers to deliver targeted academic support in a small group setting (5:1 student-teacher ratio) and provide individual support as needed.

• Work closely with teachers and school leaders to deliver culturally responsive support in early elementary math and ELA
• Engage small groups of students, helping them build foundational skills and achieve their full potential
• Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment that promotes curiosity and growth
• Be a valued part of a team committed to transforming educational outcomes in underserved communities
  
  

Schedule:

• Days: Monday through Friday
• Time: 8:00 AM to 2:20 PM
• Duration:January 28th –June20th (excluding holidays and school conferences)
• January 29: Lunar New Year
• February 17-21: Midwinter Recess
• March 6: Elementary Parent-Teacher Conferences (Early Dismissal)
• March 31: Eid al-Fitr
• April 14-18: Spring Recess
• May 26: Memorial Day
• June 5: Anniversary Day
• June 6: Clerical Day
• June 19: Juneteenth
  

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience: Prior experience tutoring or teaching elementary school math and ELA is preferred
• Bilingual Skills: Fluent in English and Spanish, with the ability to provide academic support in both languages
• Team Player: Collaborative spirit and a desire to work closely with teachers and students
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written skills to connect effectively with diverse audiences. Passion: A commitment to educational equity and social justice for minority and low-income students
• Availability: Must be able to work the specified schedule consistently
