What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate with teachers and school leaders to provide targeted, culturally responsive instruction in ELA or math
- Serve as push-in support, assisting teachers during lessons and working hands-on with selected students
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that motivates students to achieve their academic goals
- Provide individualized attention to students as needed to address specific challenges in ELA or math
- Days: Monday through Friday
- Time: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Duration: February 24 – April 11, 2025 (excluding holidays and school conferences)
- Key Dates Off:
- March 13: Middle School Parent-Teacher Conferences (3-hour early dismissal)
- March 31: Eid al-Fitr
- Experience: Prior experience tutoring or teaching middle school subjects (grades 6–8)
- Subject Proficiency: Strong knowledge of middle school ELA and math concepts
- Team Player: Collaborative spirit and a desire to work closely with teachers and students
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to connect effectively with diverse audiences
- Passion: A commitment to educational equity and social justice for minority and low-income students
- Availability: Must be able to work the specified schedule consistently
- Competitive Pay: Earn $22/hr with the opportunity to increase to $24.20/hr through a completion bonus
