Job Description:
Pay: $30/hr
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Bilingual (Spanish) Middle School Mathematics Tutor to join our team in Manhattan. In this role, you will provide in-person tutoring to middle school students during the school day, helping them master middle school mathematics concepts and prepare for assessments. Your bilingual skills will be essential in communicating effectively with students who are Spanish speakers.
Compensation and Schedule:
- Target launch date February 25, 2025
- Schedule of 3 six-hour days each week
- Pay of $30 per hour, including paid sick leave
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct individualized tutoring sessions to help students prepare for the NYS Math assessment and Algebra I exams in May and June
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each student, particularly English Language Learners.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to keep students engaged.
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to facilitate a supportive learning environment.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (or currently pursuing a degree) in Education, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish, including the ability to teach mathematical concepts effectively in Spanish.
- Previous experience in tutoring or teaching mathematics to middle or high school students.
- Familiarity with the New York State middle school math and Algebra I Regents exams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
