About the Role:
We’re hiring three dedicated in-person tutors to provide small-group ELA and Math instruction to 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade students at PS 38 Roberto Clemente. Each tutor will be assigned to one grade level, working closely with students and teachers to deliver personalized academic support tailored to each child’s needs.

What You’ll Do:
- Work closely with teachers and school leaders to provide engaging and focused small-group instruction in ELA and Math for your assigned grade level (3rd, 4th, or 5th grade).
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity and resilience.
- Be a valued part of a team dedicated to transforming educational outcomes in underserved communities.
Schedule:
- Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
- Time: 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
- Duration: December 3, 2024 – April 30, 2025 (excluding holidays and school conferences)
- Key Dates Off:
- December 24 – January 1 (Winter Recess)
- January 29 (Lunar New Year)
- February 17 – February 21 (Midwinter Recess)
- March 6 (Elementary and K-8 Parent-Teacher Conferences – Early Dismissal)
- March 31 (Eid al-Fitr)
- April 14 – April 18 (Spring Recess)
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: Previous experience tutoring or teaching ELA and Math to elementary school students.
- Subject Proficiency: Strong knowledge of ELA and Math for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade levels.
- Team Player: Collaborative spirit and a desire to work closely with teachers and students.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to connect effectively with diverse audiences.
- Passion: A commitment to educational equity and social justice for minority and low-income students.
- Availability: Must be able to work the specified schedule consistently.
