We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients, providing health education, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Perform diagnostic tests and interpret results to guide treatment decisions.
- Provide health coaching to patients, promoting wellness and preventive care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV insertion when necessary.
- Engage in utilization review processes to ensure appropriate care delivery.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including specialists in Ophthalmology and Psychopharmacology, to enhance patient outcomes.
- Document all patient interactions accurately using electronic health record systems such as Athenahealth.
- Stay current with ICD-10 coding for accurate billing and insurance processing.
Skills
The successful candidate will possess the following skills:
- Proficient in utilization review processes.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations.
- Familiarity with Athenahealth or similar electronic health record systems.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 coding practices.
- Experience in Ophthalmology or related fields is a plus.
- Skills in health coaching to support patient engagement.
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology principles for mental health management.
- Experience working in Pediatric Intensive Care Units (PICU) is advantageous.
- Competence in IV insertion techniques.
- Excellent patient assessment abilities to ensure high-quality care.
