Job Description:
Blackfeet Community Hospital is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Physician (MD/DO) for a long-term contract opportunity. The ideal candidate will provide professional emergency medical services to a diverse patient population in the ER. This includes diagnosing, prescribing treatments, and managing patients with a wide variety of illnesses and emergencies.
Responsibilities:
- Provide emergency medical services, including stabilization and transfer of patients with major trauma (e.g., penetrating wounds, blunt trauma, traumatic brain injury).
- Manage and treat pediatric and adult patients, including those with critical and complex medical conditions (e.g., septic shock, cardiac arrest, psychiatric emergencies).
- Perform advanced airway management procedures, including endotracheal intubation and rapid sequence intubation.
- Ensure prompt decision-making and high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers and specialists as needed to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Complete necessary documentation, and comply with all credentialing and federal security clearance requirements.
- Licensing: Must have an active, unrestricted medical license to practice in Montana or any other U.S. state.
- Board Certification: ABEM (American Board of Emergency Medicine) or AOBEM (American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine) certification required. Board-eligible candidates will also be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an emergency department required. Previous locum tenens or IHS experience preferred.
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support)
- DEA: Active DEA required.
- Must be a US Citizen , living primarily in the united states
- Credentialing: Must complete credentialing requirements within 10 days of offer.
- Federal Security Clearance: Must be willing to complete the process and pass a Federal Security Clearance.
