Indian Health Services and Prairie Band Health Services are currently interviewing for an adventurous and compassionate OBGYN Nurse Practitioner to join our care team for the Mescalero Service Unit in Mescalero, New Mexico. Schedule:
• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• 40 hours per week
• No weekends or federal holidays
Contract Details:
• Full-time 1099 Government Contractor Position
• Initial 1-year contract with potential extensions
• Start Date: July 2025
• Experience with Indian Health Services (IHS) or Tribal Health preferred
• Prior contract/travel experience a plus
• Local/regional applicants encouraged to apply
Primary Responsibilities:
• Deliver comprehensive outpatient OB/GYN care to women of all ages.
• Perform routine women's health exams, prenatal/postnatal care, contraception counseling, and STI management.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic gynecological issues.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support continuity of care.
• Prescribe medications and order labs/imaging in accordance with IHS formulary.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation using EHR systems.
• Adhere to IHS protocols, infection control, and safety standards.
• Educate patients on wellness, disease prevention, and treatment plans.
• Support quality improvement and population health initiatives.

Prairie Band, LLC follows Title 22: Employment Code of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. Preference will be given as outlined in Section 22-2-4(B) for TIER 2 designated positions.

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
• Certified Nurse Practitioner through AANP or ANCC
• Minimum 2 years of experience in OB/GYN, Women’s Health, or related field
• Active, unrestricted license from any U.S. State or territory
• Current DEA license
• Current BLS certification (ACLS and PALS preferred)
• Proof of education (diploma or transcripts required)
• Must be a U.S. Citizen residing primarily in the United States
• Must be willing to pass a federal background check
