Women's Health Nurse Practitioner

WANDER STAFFING seeks to add two (2) Women's Health Nurse Practitioners (NPs) to our Team ASAP! This position is located in the Mescalero Service Unit, Mescalero, New Mexico

Where: 318 Abalone Loop, Mescalero, New Mexico, 88340

Pay:

Tentative start date: 06/01/2025 (likely later, though due to credentialing and security requirements)

Duration of contract:

• 5 years
• Note: The duration of the contract is between the government and us. Like any other job, if life means you must leave, you give us 60-day notice

License/Registration:

• Current, valid, unrestricted NP license or Women’s Health Specialty Certification.
• Any state, DC, PR, or a Territory of the U.S.

Certifications

• Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program
• BLS

Schedule:

• 40 hours a week- some weekends and evenings may be required.
• Regular hours of operation are:
  • Mondays 0800-1700
  • Tuesdays 0800-1700
  • Wednesdays 0900-1700
  • Thursdays 0800-1700
  • Fridays 0800-1700
• Shifts scheduled by the facility
• Work Flexibility: Rotates as needed to support patient care.

Duties:

• Provide prenatal and postnatal care to pregnant women

• Conduct gynecological exams and pap smears
• Diagnose and treat reproductive health issues
• Perform screenings for sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
• Manage contraception and family planning
• Educate patients on health maintenance and disease prevention
• Develop and implement individualized care plans
• Prescribe medications and therapies
• Offer menopausal care and hormone replacement therapy
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide comprehensive care
• Perform minor medical procedures like IUD placements and removals

The Mescalero Service Unit is a federally operated Indian Health Service (IHS) facility located on the Mescalero Apache Reservation in southern New Mexico. It serves the Mescalero Apache Tribe and surrounding communities, providing comprehensive healthcare services.

Mescalero is nestled in the scenic Sacramento Mountains, offering a tranquil environment with opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, and biking. The community is approximately 15 miles from Ruidoso and 35 miles from Alamogordo, providing access to additional amenities and services.
