Accounting Clerk- Electrical Division

Non-Exempt, Full-Time

Work Schedule: Hourly Monday- Friday 7AM-4PM

Reporting Relationship: Operation Manager/General Manager

Location: Albuquerque, NM


Primary Accountabilities:

The Accounting Clerk plays a critical role in supporting the financial operations of the organization by maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and providing administrative support to the Accounting Department. The incumbent ensures compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards while delivering timely and accurate results.

  

Major Duties:

  • Maintains accurate financial records by entering and reconciling data in accounting systems.
  • Processes accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoices and payments.
  • Assists in preparing monthly bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
  • Supports payroll processing by verifying and preparing timekeeping records.
  • Generates standard financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets.
  • Organizes and maintains financial documents, such as invoices, receipts, and tax records.
  • Provides documentation and assistance during internal and external audits.
  • Responds to inquiries from staff and external stakeholders regarding financial matters.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and GAAP standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

   

Requirements

  

  • Education:
    • High School Diploma or GED is required.
    • Associate’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • At least one year of accounting or bookkeeping experience is preferred.
    • Experience in the construction industry or a similar field is a plus.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Proficient knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Basic understanding of accounting principles and math skills.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Familiarity with general office equipment.
    • Commitment to upholding diversity and respecting individual needs.

      

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
  • Ability to bend, reach, twist, and grip items while working at a desk.
  • Ability to lift up to twenty-five(25) pounds occasionally.

  

Work Environment:

  • Professional and deadline-oriented environment in an office setting.
  • Regular interaction with staff and clients.
