Reports To : District Accountant III

Position Purpose : Process and pay accounts payable, assist accounts receivable

Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • General bookkeeping and accounting skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Excel and Word
  • Ability to enter large volumes of data accurately and efficiently
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to maintain accounting records
  • Experience with Accounts Payable systems

Physical / Emotional Requirements : The incumbent may be required to use the following skills during any part of the work day.

Speaking, listening, manual dexterity (coordination of eye / hand for such activities as typing, calculating, word processing, etc.), bending, sitting, reaching, pushing, pulling, repetitive motions, visual acuity ((work deals largely with preparing and analyzing due date requirements and requested payment amounts with high degree of accuracy).

Responsibilities :

  • Process all invoices and reimbursements in an accurate and efficient manner
  • Maintain correspondence with vendors to resolve pricing, shipping cost and other invoice problems
  • Reconcile vendor statements
  • Ensure invoices have proper authorization for payment
  • Review travel reimbursement requests for accuracy
  • Assist counting and logging cash and checks received for Accounts Receivable
  • Research transactions as directed and prepare reports as required
  • Scan and index all purchase orders, backup materials and checks for audit records
  • Maintains electronic and physical files for all Accounts Payable transactions
  • Other duties as requested and assigned by the administrator or supervisor
  • Terms of Employment :

    The term of employment is 12 months; salary and work year is determined by the Board of education.

    Evaluation :

    Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board policy on evaluation of classified personnel. This position reports directly to the District Accountant III.
