Job Description:
The Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation is seeking a skilled and physically fit individual to fill the position of Asphalt Laborer. This seasonal 90-day role will involve working under the general supervision of the Road and Bridge Foreman to maintain and repair asphalt roads.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing physical labor on a construction site
- Safely operating machinery and being responsible for its maintenance and upkeep
- Assisting skilled trades as needed and loading and unloading deliveries to the work site
- Maintaining a safe job site by removing any hazards
Requirements:
- Must have a valid Kansas Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A and be insurable with the Nation's insurance
- 2-5 years' experience in highway construction and/or maintenance including asphalt
- Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving
- Knowledge of safely operating and maintaining heavy equipment and vehicles
