What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utilities Foreman position at Prairie Landworks, Inc.?
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for contributing to the safe completion of PLI earthwork and civil utility projects
- Operate compact and heavy equipment as required to complete a wide range of projects, including; excavator, dozer, scraper tractor & pans, motor grader, mini excavator, compact track loaders, skid steers, roller compactors, etc. PLI uses Topcon mm/GPS machine controls for finish grading and efficiency.
- Working efficiently and in the professional manner expected by PLI
- Ability to contribute to a safe jobsite yet still meet production goals.
- Read and interpret survey information, plans, specifications and shop drawings
- Experience with GPS layout and data collectors is a plus but we will train you if you're willing to learn.
- Coordinate with material suppliers as needed or dictated by the project.
- Properly communicate with all project members and create an attitude of teamwork on the jobsites.
- Foreman will be responsible for time tracking of self-performance labor crews and equipment and cost coding of invoices and deliveries
- Manage manpower and equipment resources efficiently over multiple ongoing projects and in communication with peers and other parts of the business.
Job Qualifications:
- Experience running a crew of 3 to 10 workers of various skills and disciplines.
- Must be skilled with overseeing earthwork projects and have relevant project history. Experience with concrete and site utilities is a big plus!
- Must have a great attitude and be willing to work hard and set the example for his/her crew.
- Kansas Drivers License required, Class A CDL with Combined Vehicle and Air Brake endorsements is preferred
- Pass a background check, pre-employment and random drug testing
- Enjoys making work fun for his/her crew and subcontractors
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is a big plus!
