What you’ll be responsible for:
- Operates & maintains all irrigation system(s) for daily and seasonal use.
- Responsible for seasonal start-up & shut-down of the irrigation system(s).
- Installs, tests, and removes backflow devices related to irrigation.
- Responsible for frequent system performance checks with the ability to identify issues and initiate corrective measures.
- Ensures daily irrigation programs run as scheduled with rain sensors actively working to prevent unnecessary watering.
- Assists to maintain healthy turf, plants, & trees through proper irrigation practices & schedules.
Requirements:
High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred with at least one year of irrigation experience required. Backflow certification required. Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record and must meet company insurance requirements. Must pay close attention to detail. Must be able to operate various kinds of equipment safely and cautiously. Ability to communicate and interact verbally and in writing with people of diverse backgrounds. Indoor/Outdoor environment. Smoking environment. Must be able to climb and work from a ladder. Ability to lift 75 pounds. Ability to stand or walk for an 8-hour shift, bend, stoop, and twist. Mowing on hills. Ability to work weekends, holidays, and varied hours. May have exposure to chemicals. Will be on 24-hour call for snow removal during winter months.
