OBJECTIVE: Provide leadership, oversight, and guidance to the patient accounts specialist staff and ensure quality, timeline, and resource goals are met. Setting the tone for the team and ensuring positive and respectful communication between team members, patients, and coworkers while providing training, mentorship, and guidance to team members, and serving as the team's subject matter expert will be other key responsibilities.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES*
- Provide individual supervision and training for Patient Account Specialists in Newton, McPherson and Wichita.
- Lead group supervision meetings.
- Assist Director of Patient Accounts and Analytics in providing communication needs between supervisor and staff.
- Complete annual evaluations of staff.
- Assist in interviewing and hiring additional staff
- Other duties as assigned.
REVENUE CYCLE
- Receive and return calls promptly using appropriate telephone etiquette. Handle telephone information request with courtesy, accuracy and respect for confidentiality.
- Demonstrate knowledge about insurance benefit requirements for referrals, pre-admissions, certifications, and managed care contract guidelines
COLLECTIONS
- Be responsible for the patient's total account, including setting up appropriate payment arrangements with the patient, helping with the collection process, and working with the patient and clinician to access additional funding sources when appropriate, such as grant funds and/or patient assistance funds.
- Minimum Education: Associates Degree or equivalent experience required
- Minimum Experience:
- Previous patient/client registration, billing and collections, financial counseling and/or customer service experience.
- One year of supervisory experience preferred but not required. Willing to train the right person.
- Must have previous office experience
- Must have an enthusiastic and positive attitude

- Demonstrate a team approach by working cooperatively with coworkers and other departments and serving as a backup as needed
- Must be proficient at basic computer skills; Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Must have ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize duties/tasks
- Must be detail oriented
- Ability to initiate communication with patients and their family members
- Must have excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to effectively calm patients and be able to deal with distressed and/or agitated patients and their families
- Must have good writing and communication skills
- Ability to work independently, make decisions and follow through
- Must be dependable and on time
- Must be able to sit and type at a desk for a minimum of two hours at a time
- Must be proficient at basic keyboarding/word-processing skills
- Must be able to get around office with ease
- Must be able to pass both a Kansas Bureau of Investigation Screen and Central Registry Screen
