As a Receptionist/Patient Accounts Specialist in our Business Office, you will be the first point of contact for patients, providing essential administrative support in a medical setting. Utilizing core skills such as medical administrative support, computer proficiency, and exceptional patient service, you will handle front desk duties, maintain office organization, and ensure efficient patient interactions. Your premium skills in verbal and written communication, EMR systems, and HIPAA compliance will be crucial in managing patient accounts effectively. With relevant skills in Microsoft Office, customer service, and multi-line phone systems, you will contribute to the smooth operation of the office and the delivery of quality healthcare services. Performs various duties including but not limited to answering incoming calls, assisting patients with accounts and insurance questions, processing the various levels of outstanding patient accounts, updating accounts with insurance info as needed, and applying undistributed monies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (This may not include all of the duties assigned.)
- Answers incoming calls to the business office.
- Assists visitors to the business office as needed.
- Enters new patient account information and updates existing patient account information.
- Applies patient co-pays and other payments to dates of service and verifies accuracy of payment amounts.
- Places courtesy calls to patients to advise of account balances, verifies and updates address and insurance information, and arranges payment agreements according to departmental guidelines.
- Maintains patient and clinic confidentiality.
- Performs other projects and duties as required.
The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm. We offer a generous paid time off plan, in addition to a suite of employee benefits.
